Berks Opera Company Collaborates with OperaLancaster on Amahl and the Night Visitors

from Berks Opera Company

Dec 17, 2018

A disabled boy, Amahl, lives alone with his widowed mother in Palestine. He often tells tall tales, so when he says a star as big as a window is shining overhead, she is wearily skeptical. But when three kings arrive, journeying with precious gifts for a wondrous child, miracles happen.

Since its premiere on NBC TV in 1951, as the very first Hallmark Hall of Fame Christmas Special, Amahl and the Night Visitors has become an essential holiday classic. Performed all over the world, it has been seen by more people than any other opera.

Berks Opera Company presents this heartwarming story for children of all ages in collaboration with OperaLancaster. Tamara Black stars as the mother. Tom Cozzoli, Kevin Durkin and Christyan Seay play the three kings, and Amahl will be Berks Youth Chorus member, Eoin Morris.
