Albright Football Announces Send A Lion to Texas Fundraiser

The Albright football program has announced a fundraiser in conjunction with the team’s away contest against Mary Hardin-Baylor in the 2019 season.

The program called “Send a Lion to Texas!” will help facilitate the cost of providing transportation and housing for the student-athletes, coaches and staff during the trip to Belton, Texas next season in early September to face Mary Hardin-Baylor. The Lions recently hosted Mary Hardin-Baylor at Shirk Stadium in the first part of the home-and-home series in early September.

Not only will this game provide some top-notch competition, but also provide a unique learning environment for our student-athletes. “I’m extremely excited about the opportunity to play the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor again at their stadium,” said Albright defensive lineman Nate Steffen. This contest will force our team to rise to the challenge of playing with the highest level of competition and will accelerate the growth of our entire team as people, students, athletes and teammates.” Mary Hardin-Baylor has become a national power in Division III football since the start of the millennium, winning two of the last three NCAA Division III Football National Championships.

It will cost approximately $1,000 to send one player to Texas for the trip.  Gifts may be made on-line at the football page of the athletic website (please be sure to mark your gift as “Texas Trip”).

The Albright College Football team would like to thank everyone in advance for consideration and support of the Lions for this historical and educational trip.
