Safe Berks Announces New Board Leadership

Safe Berks is pleased to announce new members and officers of our Board of Directors for 2018.  We would also like to recognize Vicki Ebner, outgoing Board President, for her dedication and leadership during the past two years.

New Safe Berks Board Officers: President, Nina Bohn; Vice President, Amanda Jackowski; Treasurer, Carlixta de la Rosa; and Secretary, Diane Duff.

The Safe Berks Board of Directors welcomes several new members: Jamal Abodalo; Mandy Acuna; Sherry Berricker; Barbara Boland; Denise DiMascio; and Dr. Eve Kimball.

These positions became effective Sept. 27, 2018, and will continue for three-year terms. “Safe Berks is extremely grateful for the many hours of selfless service contributed by our Board members and officers,” said Mary Kay Bernosky, Esq., Safe Berks CEO.

In addition to the new officers and new members, the Safe Berks Board of Directors also includes: Tina Boyd, Esq.; Joseph J. Cicala, PhD; Karen H. Cook, Esq., Jonathan D. Encarnacion; Susan Fromm; Jay Mahoney; Timothy Marks; Michele McCartney; Steve Ohnsman; Mark Wallace; and Helen Najarian, Director Emeritus.

Safe Berks services include a Safe House for up to 50 adults and children who are in danger, a 24-hour Hotline and text line, trauma-informed counseling, legal services and advocacy, and education and outreach programs. We also provide transitional housing for up to 25 people.

Our services are free, confidential, and available in English, Spanish or any other language needed. Our services are available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

Safe Berks served more than 4,000 clients in the last fiscal year. Our Safe House provided a haven to more than 800 people in the last fiscal year, including approximately 400 children.
