SafeBerks to Present The Escalation Workshop at Penn State Berks

SafeBerks will present The Escalation Workshop, a powerful film-based event with the goal of raising awareness of the warning signs of relationship abuse, at Penn State Berks on Tuesday, January 22, 2019, from 3–5 p.m. in the Perkins Student Center Multipurpose Room. This event is free and open to the public.

The workshop includes airing the film, Escalation, followed by a discussion. Escalation, which was produced by the One Love Foundation, follows a college-aged couple through the sweet beginnings of their relationship and shows how unhealthy behaviors can escalate into abuse. After watching the film, workshop participants will dive into a discussion about the film—led by trained facilitators—examining the early warning signs of relationship abuse and what they can do if they witness or experience these behaviors. The conversation is led by a facilitator who has been trained by One Love.

This program is a joint initiative of SafeBerks and the Penn State Berks Office of Campus Life. For more information or to register, contact Autumn Fritz, Assistant Director of Community Development at Penn State Berks, at 610-396-6076 or via email at [email protected].
