BB&T $10,000 Grant to Support BCPS Reentry Support Services for Returning Citizens

from Berks Connections/Pretrial Services

Jan 23, 2019

Reading, Pa – Berks Connections/Pretrial Services (BCPS) was awarded a $10,000 grant from the BB&T Economic Growth Fund of Berks County Community Foundation on Monday, January 14.  BB&T representatives Carey Babczak and David Roland presented the check at BB&T – Wyomissing Branch to BCPS Co-Executive Directors, Peggy Kershner and Nicolle Schnovel.

The funds will support BCPS reentry support services for returning citizens. BCPS has had an exciting year of growth in Workforce Development programming that has allowed the organization to impact more lives than ever before. With that growth has come an increased need for reentry services that assist clients in overcoming barriers to employment including, identification, transportation, and work- specific clothing needs. BCPS is committed to helping clients remove these barriers, allowing them to move forward and become productive members of our community. BCPS served over 600 individuals through Reentry Workforce Development Programs in 2018. This grant will allow the organization to impact more lives in 2019. BCPS thanks BB&T for investing in their Life Improvement Business and for helping the organization create a safer, more prosperous community.
