Tompkins VIST Bank Launches Financial Literacy Program on Website

Wyomissing, PA – Tompkins VIST Bank has announced the launch of an interactive, online financial education initiative designed to help the public and customers learn how to better manage their finances and plan for the future.

The free program is available on the bank’s website through a partnership with EVERFI, Inc., a leading education technology company. It provides information on banking, home ownership, insurance, saving for retirement, and more.

“We’re finding that consumers want to do their own research about financial services before they speak to us,” said Scott Gruber, president and CEO of Tompkins VIST Bank.  He adds that this is especially true when people are thinking about making a significant change, such as starting a family, buying a home, or planning for retirement.  “We want to make it easy for them to do this, because it gives them a better frame of reference when they talk to their banker,” he said.

Most of the topics are presented in 3-10-minute modules designed to build financial knowledge through a series of interactive activities. The mobile and tablet-friendly program is available in English and Spanish.

“We’re in business to help people wisely use their money to achieve their dreams, and we believe financial education is the starting point to accomplish that,” Gruber said.
