Aging Parent Fair:  A Resource for Helping Aging Parents

Berks County, PA  – Since 2013, a diversified team of professionals serving the aging population of Berks County have teamed up to provide the “Aging Parent Fair”.  The Aging Parent Fair, a health-fair styled event intended specifically for adult children seeking help, support and resources for their aging loved ones will be held on the Reading Area Community College Campus at the Schmidt Training & Technology Center at 15 North Front Street, Reading on Wednesday, February 6 from 4-6pm.  Free and easily accessible parking is available at the parking garage adjacent to the Schmidt Training & Technology Center (behind the IMAX theatre).

The “Aging Parent Fair” provides attendees with financial resources, care alternatives, assistive services and connections to the people and programs who can serve them and their loved ones.  Professionals from the Berks Co. Area Agency on Aging, Berks Encore, Berks Veterans Affairs, hospice, home health, in-home care, long term care insurance, elder law, financial services, downsizing and other organizations will be available to answer your questions.

The event is “drop-in” style, so families can come and go as they please.  Register by calling Wendy at Comfort Keepers at (610) 413-1995.
