Berks County Business Plan Contest Competition Seeks Entrepreneurs

Spring contest is free and open to budding high school, college and first-time entrepreneurs. Winner receives scholarship to Kauffman Foundation’s FastTrac® business-building training ($1,500 value).

Reading, PA – Have a business idea and need to know if it will fly? You need a business plan.

But many people have no experience creating such an important document (banks require a business plan when an entrepreneur goes looking for a loan) and could use some help.

This is where the Berks County Business Plan Contest Competition can help:

Entrepreneurs’ Connection (EC), a Berks County business group comprised of successful business owners, is holding a free business plan contest this spring. All participants receive feedback from experienced regional entrepreneurs and business owners and the contest’s winners receive a scholarship to the Kauffman Foundation’s FastTrac® business plan creation training, a $1,500.00 value. (EC is an approved FastTrac® affiliate.)

The contest is open to individuals and teams in three categories: high school, college and first-time entrepreneurs/business owners who live in Berks County. Teams may be comprised of one-three individuals and if the business already exists it must have been in business for no more than three years.

“We want to help entrepreneurs get started the right way,” said Chuck Holder, EC president. “At the very least, everyone who enters will end up understanding the purpose and value of a well-prepared business plan.”

Anyone interested in learning more about submitting a business plan for the contest should contact Holder at 484-638-3975/[email protected].

Business sponsorships also are available. Businesses interested in supporting regional entrepreneurs also should contact Holder.
