Astounding means capable of overwhelming with amazement; stunningly surprising.

It is always astounding to witness the talent of the March Madness basketball teams.

The Word of the Week (WOW) program was inaugurated at the Muhlenberg School District in 2010 and for the past eight years, the school district, local community and beyond have been involved in promoting literacy through the Word of the Week (WOW) vocabulary initiative.
