Alvernia’s Pirollo Earns All-Region Honors

New Orleans, La. (Mar. 4, 2019) – Women’s Track and Field sophomore Susanna Pirollo was named to the All-Region for the 2019 NCAA Division III Indoor Track & Field, as announced on March 4 by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA).

The top-5 individuals in each event from each region earned All-Region distinction, in addition to each member of the region’s top-3 relay teams. The regions used for this award – Atlantic, Central, Great Lakes, Mideast, Midwest, New England, South/Southeast and West – match those used during the cross country season.

Pirollo earned the honor for her performance in the pentathlon this season. Pirollo finished the season ranked fifth in the mid-east.

Pirollo posted personal-records in every event within the pentathlon during the indoor season.

The sophomore placed first in the event at Widener University with 2,699 points. Pirollo also earned first place honors at the MAC Championship with a school-record 2,933 points. Pirollo then bettered the school-record with a 3,005 point performance, which was good for third place at the ECAC Championship.

A total of 1590 All-Region honors were handed out to 192 different member institutions. There was a near-even split between the genders as women combined for 804 of the honors, compared to 786 for the men.
