Freyberger Gallery to hold FH Gaige II Juried Exhibit

from Penn State Berks

Mar 18, 2019

The Freyberger Gallery will host the FH Gaige II Juried Exhibit in honor of the late CEO Emeritus Frederick H. Gaige. The exhibit includes more than 60 pieces of art including painting, sculpture, printmaking, fabric art, and ceramics from Berks County and surrounding regions, selected by jurors Kristen Woodward, art instructor at Albright College, and Ann Lalik, gallery director of the Ron deLong Gallery at Penn State Lehigh Valley. The exhibit runs from March 14 to April 18, and entry to the gallery is free and open to the public.

Gaige, who served as Penn State Berks chief executive officer from 1984 until 2001, transformed the campus into a residential college with four-year academic programs, serving the needs of students and citizens throughout this region. During his tenure, the campus doubled its enrollment and significantly increased its endowment and physical facilities. A Fulbright Fellow and South Asian scholar, Gaige’s legacy continues on campus today, and the Gaige Technology and Business Innovation Building was dedicated in his honor in 2011.

The Freyberger Gallery is open 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday, 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Thursdays, and noon to 4 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays.
