de Avila, Demeter Earn All-Conference Honors

Annville, Pa. (Apr. 9, 2019) – Alvernia University Men’s Volleyball athletes, Victor de Avila and Jon Demeter, earned MAC All-Conference honors, as announced by the Middle Atlantic Conference on April 9.

Victor de Avila, a sophomore, earned All-MAC Second Team honors as a middle hitter, and Jon Demeter, a sophomore, earned All-MAC Honorable Mention as a libero.

de Avila finished the season with 138 kills on 317 attempts for a .309 hitting percentage, and had 15 aces and 43 blocks. The sophomore earned player of the week honors earlier in March, and finished fifth in the MAC in hitting percentage.

Demeter finished his second season with 229 digs in 102 sets of action. He finished fourth in the MAC in both total digs and digs per set (2.25). Demeter also finished with 37 assists for the Golden Wolves.

Stevenson senior Landon Shorts was named MAC Player of the Year for the second consecutive year. Dan Paraskevov of Arcadia was named MAC Rookie of the Year, and Robert Wingert of Misericordia was named Coach of the Year.
