West Reading, Pa. – Dawn Anuszkiewicz has been named Chief Operating Officer (COO) for Reading Hospital beginning Monday, April 29. She succeeds Therese Sucher as Reading Hospital’s COO. Sucher, who held a dual role as COO for both Reading Hospital and Tower Health, will remain with the system in the role of Executive Vice President and COO of Tower Health.

Anuszkiewicz most recently served as the CEO of Ochsner Baptist Medical Center in New Orleans, a position she has held since 2013. While at Ochsner Baptist Medical Center, Anuszkiewicz led the transformation to return the hospital to full-service after it was forced to close in 2005 following Hurricane Katrina. Notably, she led improvements in quality and patient safety helping Ochsner Baptist Medical Center receive a Leapfrog Grade A. Anuszkiewicz was also instrumental in leading significant improvement in both physician and employee engagement.

“We are pleased Dawn has chosen to join the Reading Hospital team,” said William M. Jennings, President and CEO of Reading Hospital. “Her proven experience in healthcare leadership and quality transformation will help ensure Reading Hospital continues to provide nationally recognized, high-quality healthcare as the market leader in the communities we serve.”

Prior to her leadership at Ochsner Baptist Medical Center, Anuszkiewicz was the Chief Operating Officer of Saint Louis University Hospital, owned by Tenet Healthcare, in St. Louis, Missouri. At this 356-bed academic medical center, she led all areas of operations including clinical ancillary services, support services, research, graduate medical education, and university relations. Her career at Saint Louis University Hospital began as Director, Graduate Medical Education in 2004. Anuszkiewicz has also served in leadership roles with Medstar Health System in Washington, D.C. and The George Washington University Hospital in Washington D.C. Her education includes a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Rutgers University and a Master of Health Services Administration from The George Washington University School of Business.
