BARTA Offers Free Ride for Bicyclists During National Bike to Work Week

May 08, 2019

Berks Area Regional Transportation Authority (BARTA) will be offering a FREE ride for any passenger who chooses to travel “multi-modal style” when they bring their bike onboard the bus for any part of their trip starting Monday, May 13 through Friday, May 17, 2019 as part of recognizing National Bike to Work Week. BARTA encourages bicycling and transit together as good alternate modes of transportation.

BARTA’s bus fleet has bike racks located in the front of the vehicle for customers to use. The bike racks can carry two bikes at one time. Normally, passengers who board BARTA buses with a bike must pay the regular adult fare. During National Bike to Work Week, their ride will be FREE.

For more information, please call BARTA at 610-921-0601. May is recognized as National Bike Month. For more information about National Bike Month visit www.bikeleague.org.

South Central Transit Authority (SCTA) is the management organization that oversees the public transit services of Berks Area Regional Transportation Area (BARTA) in Berks and Red Rose Transit Authority (RRTA) in Lancaster Counties.
