Clay on Main announces Pop-up event June 29

by Clay on Main

Jun 14, 2019

Clay on Main will be hosting Le Petit Prince Artisan Pop up Market from 11-4pm, at 313 Main Street Oley. In 1943 French author Antoine de Saint-Exupéry published his notable novel Le Petit Prince, or The Little Prince, which has since been adapted to countless movies and picture books. At the heart of his story there is whimsy, fantasy and a world of visual language. Clay on Main will celebrate his birthday on June 29th, in the only way creatives should be celebrated – with art, music and food!

For one day only Clay on Main, a gallery, art studio and music venue on Main Street in Oley, will transform into a magical world of artists and craftsmen selling their wares, artisan and specialty food vendors, with live performances by killer musicians. Over 20 unique crafters and artisans, including painters, illustrators, jewelers and ceramicists, will participate. Local artists such as Skullduggery Studios and Librarium Studios will be selling alongside Philadelphia and Lancaster based artists such as ink illustrator John Salvino, painter and fiber artist Megan Lee Wegner and ceramicist Nate Hirschbock. Some artists will be providing a sneak peak into their world and providing attendees with live demos to get lost in. There is artwork and fine crafts for every interest and taste, including handmade soaps, sculpture, prints, stickers and garments.

Live music will drift through the gallery and studio space on June 29th, as local musicians take to the Half Moon Cafe’s iconic stage. Bethlehem-based singer songwriter Brenna will be bringing along her guitar and performing her latest original songs, from her upcoming EP “Selfless” from 12pm-2pm. Brenna can be found on Facebook and Instagram for those music fans giddy about finding new favorite bops. The sweet ukulele tunes of Betsy Manning will also be heard throughout Le Petit Prince Artisan Pop up as she sings her heart out.

But what is art and music without delicious food? Artisan and specialty food vendors will line Clay on Main’s walls with their tasty treats, for sampling and purchase. Clay on Main will also provide plenty of icy lemonade and fresh fruit for the perfect summer afternoon. Classic Flowers and herbs will offer the last component to a lovely day of art and fantasy, beautiful plants, herbs and flowers. When attendees are finally shopped out they can enjoy a free chance at the duck pond game, an old fashioned nod to summer afternoons from long ago with prizes for all ages.

Le Petit Prince Artisan Pop up is open to all ages and is a family friendly free event. For additional information or to inquire about vending email [email protected], or call 610-987-0273.
