LGBT Center of Reading to discuss work of the center, mission, and services

Michelle Dech, Executive Director of the LGBT Center of Greater Reading, will talk about the work of the center, its mission and services, on Monday, June 24th at 6 PM at the Wyomissing Public Library. The program is free and open to the public. The Wyomissing Public Library is located at 9 Reading Boulevard in Wyomissing.

Founded in 2016, the LGBT Center of Greater Reading is a non-profit organization that provides support, advocacy and services to the community. Michelle Dech has been involved with the organization since 2017, first as a volunteer and then as secretary of the board of directors and assistant to the executive director. Prior to that, she served as regional manager for the Kitchen Collection, where she served on the Diversity and Inclusion task force and developed materials on topics such as LGBTQ, racism, discrimination, institutional racism and cultural competency.

This is the second of two programs at the Wyomissing Public Library in recognition of Gay Pride Month. The first was a public screening of the film, “Boy Erased.” Registration for the program is requested and may be done online at www.wyopublib.org, by phone at 610-374-2385, or in-person at the circulation desk.
