Jul 18, 2019

Berks Community Television is pleased to announce that John Furdyna has been named Program Manager, effective July 15, 2019.

“John’s diverse skill set, partnered with considerable experience within our organization, will serve him well in this management role. I am confident in his agility and dedication to help lead community media into the future and we couldn’t be more pleased with his decision to serve in this position,” said Heather Adams, Executive Director.

Furdyna joined the BCTV staff in 1993. In his most recent position as Production Technician, he handled video production in the BCTV studio as well as remote telecasts from throughout the county and production services projects. He has been a key leader in volunteer and intern program development and training, and also served as a project lead on the redesign and launch of BCTV’s new website in 2018.

In his new role, he will be the key operations coordinator for producers and hosts to schedule and execute their programming.

“I look forward to working with our existing core of dedicated program producers, and am excited about developing new programming collaborations in the future,” said Furdyna.

A graduate of Alvernia University, he is a member of the Cumru Township Parks & Recreation Board, enjoys reading, hiking/walking, and is an avid baseball fan. He is a Reading native, and currently resides in Shillington.
