Greater Reading Young Professionals select Habitat for Humanity of Berks County as next Community Cause

Reading PA – The Greater Reading Young Professionals (GRYP), a young professional’s organization that supports the greater Reading community through its mission to attract, engage and retain young professionals, announced today they have selected Habitat for Humanity of Berks County as their next community cause.

“GRYP is dedicated to revitalizing our community, by partnering with Habitat for Humanity through our community cause program we are addressing a critical need facing Reading; Affordable Housing.” said Lindsay Crist, GRYP President.

GRYP has set a fundraising goal of $25,000.00 to raise through the membership and the community at large. GRYP is also planning on hosting four major events that will benefit Habitat for Humanity. GRYP will also be participating in various Habitat volunteer projects.

“As a community bank and an active member of our community, our focus goes beyond providing financial services. Supporting organizations like GRYP and Habitat for Humanity of Berks County is critical to strengthening our community,” said Timothy D. Romig, Executive Vice President, Managing Director & Market President – Pennsylvania and New Jersey at Customers Bank.  “We are committed to GRYP’s endeavor to support Habitat for Humanity. To help double the impact of GRYPs fundraising initiative, Customers Bank is issuing a fundraising matching challenge and will match the $25,000.00,” he announced.

“We are very excited to be working with both GRYP and Customers Bank over the next year to further our mission to provide hardworking families with a clean, affordable and decent place to live. The money raised through this partnership will go towards our Buttonwood Gateway Project,” said Tim Daley, Habitat for Humanity’s Executive Director.
