Appointment supports new strategic direction

Reading, Pa. – Alvernia University names Mary-Alice Ozechoski its new vice president for enrollment management. Her appointment is part of the university’s continuation to align its senior leadership team to support a new strategic direction.

“Mary-Alice has an impressive record of leading successful enrollment management programs as well as strategies designed to support student development and retention,” said Alvernia President John R. Loyack. “Her ability to leverage international and experiential learning programs as catalysts for attracting new students will serve Alvernia very well,” he added.

Before the new appointment, Ozechoski has served as vice president for enrollment management and student affairs at Cedar Crest College in Allentown, Pennsylvania, a position she has held since 2013. While there, she was responsible for increasing new student enrollment by 40%.

With more than 27 years of higher education experience, she has held myriad positions focusing on enrollment, student activities, student life, admissions counseling and teaching at both undergraduate and graduate levels. Ozechoski holds a master’s degree in counseling and student personnel services from Edinboro University of Pennsylvania and a bachelor’s in communications from Clarion University of Pennsylvania.

The university announced in July 2019 the realignment of its senior leadership team to support a new strategic direction, called the Alvernia Advantage, designed to support its special brand of experiential transformation of the individual and community. Ozechoski moves into a position previously held by John McCloskey, who was recently promoted to senior vice president and chief of staff at Alvernia. She begins her new appointment on Nov. 4, 2019.
