Puerto Rican Parade and Festival this Saturday, Important Penn Street Traffic Changes

Downtown gets festive on Saturday, September 14th, 2019!

La Mega’s Reading Puerto Rican Parade will take place on September 14th 2019.

The parade is expected to run from 12:00 PM to 1:30 PM from 11th & Penn Streets west on Penn Street to 5th & Penn Streets.

IMPORTANT TRAFFIC CHANGES ARE AS FOLLOWED:

The entire route will be marked as NO PARKING AFTER MIDNIGHT.

The formation area of the parade is the 1100 block Perkiomen Avenue and the 000 blocks of N. and S. 11th Street. This formation area will be closed to all non parade traffic units at approximately 6:00 AM.

The entire parade route will be closed to ALL Traffic staring at approximately 8:00 AM.

Emergency Vehicles and BARTA will be allowed to cross Penn Street at 2nd St. and 4th St. for south bound traffic and 3rd St. for north bound traffic.

All other traffic must use City Park or Clymer St.
