• You will become familiar with the fundamental concepts and terms of computer technology as well as computer graphics. You will get a working vocabulary in English of all the computer terms
• You will develop a working knowledge of Three-Dimensional (3-D) printers, its operation and connection to a computer
• You will see the whole process of additive manufacturing from design to final product and will have a hands-on experience by manufacturing a design.
First Session—Thursday, October 17th from 6:30 pm – 8:30 pm Introduction to 3D Printing. Key components of a 3-D printer. Interface printer-computer. Printing of pre-designed simple shapes. You will develop a working vocabulary in English of all the 3D printing terms. The assignment at this point is for you to develop a concept of what you would like to design.
Second Session—Thursday, October 24th from 6:30 pm – 8:30 pm Introduction to computer graphics using Tinkercad. Participants will initiate the work from simple geometrical figures to more complex shapes
Third Session—Thursday, November 7th from 6:30 pm – 8:30 pm You will develop a design using Tinkercad with the help of the instructors and based on the knowledge you have gained from the previous sessions.
Fourth Session—Thursday, November 14th 6:30 pm – 8:30 pm You will print a design using computer technology and the 3D printer. The design will be of a geometrical nature that can be printed in a reasonable time. The goal is to illustrate the whole process from design to 3D printing.
