Community residents can vote for one non-profit to receive $10,000; Seven organizations to receive in-kind support
ALLENTOWN, Pa. —Spherion Staffing’s eight offices in Central and Eastern Pennsylvania today launched a community contest aimed at giving back to eight local charities. The contest, called the “Frassinelli $10K Giveaway,” is asking for the public’s help in choosing which local charity will receive a $10,000 donation – a thousand dollars for each year Spherion has been in business in the region.
Central/Eastern Pennsylvania Spherion franchise owners Phil Frassinelli, Sr., Marlene Frassinelli and Phil Frassinelli, Jr. designed the contest as a way to thank the eight communities where they have successfully operated. The Frassinellis own and operate Spherion branches in Bethlehem, Carlisle, Hazleton, Harrisburg, Lehigh Valley, Reading, Scranton and Wilkes-Barre.
“We wanted to do something special to commemorate our decade of working with local businesses, residents and community partners,” said Phil Frassinelli, Sr. “Our challenge is that we operate in eight great communities and couldn’t decide where to direct our support; so we are asking the public to help us figure out where our donation can do the most good.”
How the contest works
Each of the Frassinelli’s eight branch offices nominated one local charity to participate in the contest. Residents in these communities are encouraged to vote for their favorite of the eight participating non-profit organizations by visiting spherion.com/frass10kgiveaway. The charity with the most votes will win the $10,000 donation. The seven other participating organizations will win in-kind volunteer hours from employees of each Spherion office.
The voting period will run from September 9, 2019 until September 30, 2019. The winning non-profit will be announced in mid-October.
Participating non-profit organizations
The eight participating local charities provide a variety of important services and resources to the residents of Central and Eastern Pennsylvania. An important goal of the contest is to build greater awareness of these organizations, their important missions and how Pennsylvanians can become involved and provide much needed support.
