2nd Year for Pub Global Trivia

It was a great event in 2018. Make your plans now to join us in 2019. October 17, 2019, at Canal St. in Reading.

Do you watch Jeopardy and get so frustrated that you know the answers and the idiot on the show cannot get it right? Have you always wanted to impress all your friends with your knowledge of trivia? Now is the time to put your creative thinking hat on for an evening of fun and games. The World Affairs Council of Greater Reading is hosting its 2nd Annual Pub Global Trivia event and you need to make sure you are a part of this great evening. The Challenge will be held at Canal Street on Thursday, October 17, 2019 beginning at 5:30 PM. Funds raised from the event support the Alan Miller Scholarship Fund for high school seniors.

You do not want to miss out on this fun, fast-paced, interactive team competition. It’s open to all adults. Grab three of your friends, make a team and gain bragging rights as “Numero Uno” in Pub Global Trivia. You need not form a team to enjoy the action, but simply come eat, drink and root for your favorite team. Either way, you do not want to miss out on this competition.

Topics will range from “Spies” to “Exotic Foods”. To whet your appetite for this event, see if you know the answers to the following questions.

What is the name of the traditional stuffed fish dish made from a poached fish mixture of ground deboned fish in Ashkenazi Jewish households served on Shabbat and holidays?

  1. smoked herring
  2. gelfilte fish
  3. borscht
  4. lox

The blossoms of what tree are central to Japanese culture, representing the beauty and fragility of life, and attracting celebrations and large crowds when they bloom?

  1. lotus
  2. apple
  3. cherry
  4. maple

You know you want to do this. Go now! Do not walk! Run to your computer and go to www.wacreading.org, go to Pub Global Trivia and sign your team up, or get your spectator tickets! You do not want to be at the water cooler the next day and hear all your friends talking about what a great night they had. Come, sign up and be part of it!
