Debut Author Kicks Off Literatour Berks

Wyomissing, PA – The Jewish Federation of Reading/Berks in partnership with Exeter Community Library and Sinking Spring Public Library announce the first author of Literatour Berks, a community-wide celebration with 16 events featuring authors, celebrities, and cultural influencers throughout Berks County. The public is invited to an evening with E.R. Ramzipoor, author of The Ventriloquists on Monday, October 7 at 7 p.m. at Exeter Community Library, 4569 Prestwick Drive, Reading, PA.

E.R. Ramzipoor is a writer based in California. She also works as a content marketer, writing about cybercrime and online fraud. She studied political science at UC Berkeley, where she researched underground literature in resistance movements and discovered the forgotten story of Faux Soir. Her writing has been featured in McSweeney’s and The Ventriloquists is her first novel.

About The Ventriloquists: Brussels, 1943. Twelve-year-old street orphan Helene survives by living as a boy and selling copies of the country’s most popular newspaper, Le Soir, now turned into Nazi propaganda. Helene’s entire world changes when she befriends a rogue journalist, Marc Aubrion, who draws her into a secret network publishing dissident underground newspapers.

Ramzipoor’s visit is presented in partnership with the LGBT Center of Greater Reading. The community is invited to the Exeter Community Library on Monday, October 7 at 7 p.m. for an evening with Ramzipoor.  After the discussion Ramzipoor will be signing copies of her book which will be on sale thanks to Reads & Company Bookshop of Phoenixville, the official book vendor of Literatour Berks. Literatour Berks is a brand-new community program that will bring 18 authors in 16 exciting programs from October 2019 to June 2020 to Berks County. This inaugural program is presented by Jewish Federation of Reading/Berks in partnership with Exeter Community Library and Sinking Spring Public Library.
