Join Berks REALTORS® as they Stride 3.1 Miles for Local Homeownership

Berks County has been invited to the 1st Annual 5K Run for Shelter Fundraiser!

With the big event on Saturday, October 12, 2019, the Reading-Berks Association of REALTORS® is proud to work together with Habitat for Humanity of Berks County, and Neighborhood Housing Services of Greater Berks, Inc.  TOGETHER we strive to increase neighborhood revitalization, create additional housing opportunities, and bring hope to deserving families’ right here in Berks County!

Competitiveness is more than welcome, but not required!  Families and athletes can walk or run the course at their own pace.  Our participant numbers have exceeded our goals and the online registration has been closed.  HOWEVER, you can still join us and register the morning of the race with a $30 cash registration fee!  T-shirts and finisher medals available while supplies last! Registration opens at 8am by the library at Reading Area Community College.  The course is fast and flat along the Schuylkill River, and if 3.1 miles is too much, we also have a 1 mile fun run/walk for all ages!!!

These non-profit organizations work diligently to make immeasurable impacts for countless families ranging from single parents, widowers, handicap, extreme loss sufferers, and veterans; all through the same vehicle:  housing!  Whether it’s providing a handicap accessible home for someone to achieve a higher standard of living and not have to sleep in their wheelchair, renewing a families faith who have recently lost a loved one, or assisting an abused woman so she can support her children.

We would like to thank our top tier gold hotel sponsor Weichert, REALTORS®, Neighborhood One, and our silver house sponsors Bellco Federal Credit Union, Forino Buildiers, Mark Mohn, REALTOR® from RE/MAX of Reading, the Commissioner Rivera Leinbach Campaign, Riverfront Federal Credit Union, and Stewart Abstract.
