Donkus Earns Second Conference Weekly Award

ANNVILLE, Pa. – Albright’s sophomore goalkeeper Olivia Donkus received her second MAC Commonwealth Defensive Player of the Week award for women’s soccer, announced by the league office on Monday.

In the net for the Lions, Donkus tallied 13 saves last week as the Lions went 1-1.  On Tuesday, Albright fell 1-0 to Lebanon Valley despite Donkus making seven saves.  In a 2-1 win against No. 14 Arcadia, Donkus registered three saves in each half for Albright women’s soccer’s first win against a nationally-ranked team in school history.

The Kutztown, Pa. native has seven wins and a 1.20 GAA on the year. The honor is Donkus’s second of the season and her career, and she is also the sole Lions women’s soccer conference awards recipient thus far in the 2019 season.

Albright women’s soccer is back in action on Wednesday, Oct. 23 at 3:30 p.m. as they take on Lycoming College in Williamsport, Pa.
