Resiliency Day at Alvernia University

Resiliency Day at Alvernia University

Communities and schools around the country have seen significant increases in mental health issues such as anxiety and depression. This opportunity will focus on recognizing warning signs and learning how to support students in need.

On Monday, October 28th, two nationally recognized speaker/researchers will be coming to Alvernia University to present on the topic of resiliency. The presentation will take place at 7:00pm in the Lecture Hall of the new Tom and Helen Flynn Complex for Recreation, Wellness and Health Sciences (PLEX)

Join us as we welcome Dr. B. Janet Hibbs and Dr. Anthony Rostain, authors of “The Stressed Years of Their Lives: Helping Your Kid Survive and Thrive During Their College Years.”  Dr. Hibbs and Dr. Rostain will speak to how parents and schools can prepare and help students transition to college and be successful in young adulthood.

This presentation would be ideal for: High School/University Administration and Faculty, Counselors/Social Workers, SAP Team Members, Special Education Staff, Health Care Providers and more.

There is no cost for the event and tickets are limited.  We request that individuals who plan to attend register for the event using the following link – Alvernia Resiliency Day.
