Autumn is officially here and it’s time to get involved in those fun fall activities. From pumpkin picking to spooky movies, there are a variety of events that you or your family can enjoy right in the heart of Reading, PA.

If you’re looking for something that will send chills down your spine, check out the new movie “Joker”. Released on October 4th, 2019, Joaquin Phoenix plays Arthur Fleck, a man with a mental disorder trying to find his place in the world. After failing to become a stand-up comedian, he slowly transforms into a criminal mastermind. Eric Serrene from Common Sense Media says, “This movie pushes the limits on what you can do with a classic comic book character, and I loved it.”

Looking for something a little more family-friendly? Check out “Duncan’s Corn Maze & Pumpkin Patch”. Some of America’s most popular fall traditions include hayrides, corn mazes, and pumpkin picking- this place has it all! You can go out and pick the perfect pumpkin to carve or even use it for decor. This is their 18th season of operation and they will be open now until November 3rd. If you’re interested in finding more details, check out their website.

Football is the most popular sport in the United States, a majority of the season played in the fall. Those NFL tickets can get a little pricey, so come out to Alvernia University to catch a local college game. The Golden Wolves recently took their first MAC win against Lycoming and will be playing at home again on November 2nd and 16th.

Alvernia University is also opening its dorms to princesses, superheroes, and many more on Halloween. Candy will be given to the little trick-or-treaters throughout each decorated hall. Pumpkins, gourds, and corn stalks are already starting to make an appearance on campus.

If you’ve grown out of the trick or treating stage and want something more thrilling, go explore the attractions at Shocktoberfest. Some of the newest attractions include Midway Massacre, The Torture Chamber, Shockto Brew Fest, and Y102 Monster Bash. Haunted Attraction Magazine says, “It’s a #1 must-see haunted attraction!” If you’re interested and need more details, everything you need to know is available on their website.

There are so many fall activities that people of all ages can get involved in right here in Reading, PA. Don’t miss a chance to make some memories with friends or family before the snow comes!
