Reading, PA – Imagine you are struggling to feed your family – including your four-legged family member – due to a layoff, an illness, or other unavoidable situation. Now imagine the heartbreak of deciding that your beloved pet would be better off surrendered to a shelter because at least there (s) he won’t go hungry…

Spike’s Pet Pantry aims to ensure that no one has to give up a family member simply because of the temporary inability to afford pet food. By supplying pet food donations directly to pet owners at our Humane Pennsylvania’s Community Resource Center, 1395 Schuylkill Ave., Reading, PA 19601 and through the county’s network of human food pantries, we are able to provide Berks County pets with the food they need to stay home, safe and loved with their families.

We will be holding Spike’s Pet Pantry Donation Drive-Thru on Sunday, December 1, 2019 at FirstEnergy Stadium, home of Reading Fightin’ Phils, from 9 AM to 12 pm.  We will be accepting unopened dry dog and cat food.  Individuals wishing to donate will just need to drive up, and staff from Humane Pennsylvania will unload the donation and place it onto the donation collection truck.

Anyone can fall on hard times and struggle with providing even the basics for their pets- donating to Spike’s Pet Pantry is an easy way to help make sure that no pet in the Treading area will go to bed hungry during the holidays.
