Thanksgiving Dinner for Olivet Boys & Girls Club hosted by Junior League

READING, PA – The Junior League of Reading, PA, Inc. will host a Thanksgiving celebration for the children and families served by Olivet Boys and Girls Club on Tuesday, November 19, 2019 from 4:30-7:30pm at the Olivet Oakbrook location 1161 Pershing Blvd. JLR will host crafts and activities, a comedy magic show, and prepare and serve a full Thanksgiving dinner. JLR expects to serve about 150 people: children ages 6-12 and their families.

This is a project that JLR started in 2010 and has grown within the Oakbrook Club each year.  JLR also hosts a program called Service Saturdays at the Oakbrook Club in which we host the young women members one Saturday a month to complete a Service Learning Project for various nonprofit organizations around Berks County. JLR also hosts a Young Women’s Summit in February. This is a great opportunity for families to learn about these opportunities. These are just a couple of the many efforts the Junior League of Reading is conducting for our initiative, Youth Empowered.
