PA Dutch “A Christmas Carol on the Avenue” Interactive Walking Tour

Nov 27, 2019

The festive interactive holiday sensation, “A Christmas Carol on the Avenue”, with a 1950’s Pennsylvania Dutch Twist, strolls joyously Into West Reading for a sixth year. Since its debut in 2014, this wondrous traveling show has played to standing room only and has delighted audiences of all ages.

This tour begins at Curious on the Avenue, at 605 Penn Avenue, West Reading in their idyllic back courtyard. When guests arrive, they will be treated to a wine tasting, provided by the award-winning Starving Artist Winery, complimentary cheese and crackers, holiday treats, and non-alcoholic drinks.

The magical storytelling begins as the audience meets old Ebenezer Scrooge who is about to go on his rounds. The audience is transported back in time to the streets of 1950’s West Reading. Scrooge plays the surly emcee of this delightfully fun and wonderfully homespun treatment of the Charles Dickens’ classic. Loved by children and adults, this interactive tour takes twists and turns through Penn Avenue in West Reading. Local businesses serve as stops along the way offering refreshments and special Holiday offers. The tour concludes at Curious on the Avenue with Holiday carol singing.

A Christmas Carol on the Avenue is produced by L J Fecho, owner and founder of Fecho Productions and Producing Artistic Director of Genesius Theatre. The interactive show has a cast of seven actors, who play multiple roles. Audience members are also called upon to portray various characters. This year’s production features Vicki Nunis, who plays the infamous Ebenezer Scrooge.
