Arts Hall of Fame Coming to Kutztown University

KUTZTOWN, PA – The Kutztown University Arts Society has announced it will recognize excellence in the arts with a new hall of fame and honorary designation. The recipients of the newly-established Schaeffer-Sharadin Fellow will be inducted into the first class of the KU Arts Hall of Fame at Kutztown University. Nomination forms are now available and can be submitted online or in person at the KU Presents! box office located on the second floor of Schaeffer Auditorium. The deadline for consideration for the inaugural class is Friday, Jan. 3, 2020.

The new KU Arts Hall of Fame is designed to highlight the prominence of KU’s relationship with the highest caliber artists and arts supporters. Those who have been named a Schaeffer-Sharadin Fellow will be added to the Kutztown University Arts Hall of Fame, where they will be featured in the display indefinitely. The KU Arts Hall of Fame will be located in the PSECU Wing of Schaeffer Auditorium on the Kutztown University campus.

Each year, up to six new Schaeffer-Sharadin Fellows will be awarded. Individuals, couples or groups of individuals that are chosen from the nomination process are honored by the KU Arts Society and named as a Fellow. Selected Fellows join the ranks of other celebrated artists and arts supporters who each maintain the prestigious title in perpetuity.

Fellow nominees can be part of any of three categories including performing arts, visual arts and patron of the arts. These positions are open to any KU alumnus, faculty, faculty emeriti or community member who demonstrate outstanding contributions to the arts category. Further details on defining characteristics for each category can be located on the Arts Society website.
