A Warm Spirit of Giving

Comfort Pro Cares

Reading, PA: Comfort Pro, Inc. provides a FREE Lennox Heating system to Katelyn Boyer and her family of Hamburg. They are the deserving Berks County family selected as part of the 9th Annual Comfort Pro Cares Event!

After the panel reviewed six nomination letters, site evaluations were conducted by Comfort Pro and the Boyer family was selected as the 2019 Comfort Pro Cares recipient.

The Boyer family was nominated to receive the new heating system through Comfort Pro Cares by Manette Boyer, Katelyn’s mother.

Boyer is a hard-working single mother who lives paycheck to paycheck and proudly saved money to buy a home for her and her daughter, Ava. Boyer was in the Army Reserves where she trained to be a dental assistant. Recently, Boyer found out that her furnace would need to be replaced and her oil tank has pin holes and is rusting out. To add to her house issues, her home also needs a new roof.

“Katie has already been struggling with depression since she lost her best friend to pancreatic cancer at the age of 33, leaving behind three young boys, last January. The setback with the furnace has added to her depression,” said Manette Boyer in her nomination letter.

“Katelyn is a single mother who is working very hard to keep their house running. Currently, her home has an old 1900s boiler that is unsafe to operate and needs to be replaced,” said Robert Newpher, Comfort Pro sales manager.

“I am so excited! It is comforting to know I can heat my home for my daughter and I this winter and not worry,” said Boyer.

Doug Weisman, CEO of Comfort Pro, Inc. said, “we received six Comfort Pro Cares nominations this year. It was so moving to read all the letters especially Katelyn’s story and to know Comfort Pro could make a difference in her life especially during the holiday season.”

“On December 17th, a Comfort Pro team will be removing her existing boiler and installing a Lennox COWB3-3 130,000 BTU oil fired boiler. Also, we found that her oil tank has pin holes in it and needs to be replaced. APR Supply has generously offered to donate an oil tank and Comfort Pro will handle the installation. The Lennox COWB3-3 130,000 BTU oil fired boiler and installation of both boiler and tank is more than $10,700,” said Newpher.
