Cancer Patients Receive Holiday Baskets from Wilson West Students

West Reading, Pa. – On Friday, December 20, Wilson West Middle School students delivered holiday baskets to patients at McGlinn Cancer Institute at Reading Hospital. Students, teachers, and staff generously donated items for patients and their families to enjoy this holiday season.

This is the tenth year the school has donated holiday baskets, and it is truly a school-wide effort. The students hold special events to raise money for items for the baskets, as do the faculty, and staff. The school’s PTO contributes as well.

The baskets include items for a holiday meal, breakfast foods, diet-friendly items for the patients (such as ginger ale, saltines, and applesauce), gift cards, Christmas CDs/DVDs, candles, candies, games, tablecloths, and paper goods.

“On behalf of the entire Reading Hospital team I would like to thank the Wilson West students, faculty, and staff for the kindness and support for the McGlinn Cancer Institute patients this holiday season,” said William M. Jennings, President and CEO at Reading Hospital.
