Esperanza Para Berks (Hope for Berks)

by Council on Chemical Abuse

Feb 19, 2020

Editor’s Note: This program is completely in Spanish. Bi-lingual materials will be available, but all the presenters will be Spanish-speaking.

The Council on Chemical Abuse, Berks County’s SCA, is preparing for the annual event “Esperanza Para Berks” (Hope For Berks).  This event is very important to us because it is the only event of its kind in the region where we provide resources and information in Spanish for families of those suffering from addiction.  It is scheduled for Saturday March 28th, 2020 from 11am-2pm at the RISE Center located at 702 North 8Th Street, Reading, Pa (Big Mill Apartment building).

During these tough times, family members get confused or desperate and usually don’t have anyone to turn to. For the fourth year, The Council on Chemical Abuse provides this event at no cost to the community which will feature all local, Bi-lingual resources, access to support services, and special guest speakers.

Do you have questions about addiction and mental health?  We invite you to come and hear from local professionals about stigma, where to get help for an addiction, and resources available to you and your family.  Narcan® kits and medication lock-boxes will also be available to those who attend.
