Deja Vu Anyone?

By Barrio Alegria

Mar 12, 2020

As part of the Celebration of Women in the Arts – Berks County 2020, Barrio Alegria is partnering up with The WCR Center for the Arts to bring back Rosa Dances with Wolves!
If you remember, it is our 2017 performance that centers around human trafficking, toxic masculinity, and the power of women.

“Inspired by the story of Little Red Riding Hood, Rosa Dances with Wolves retells the classic tale with a modern twist. Rosa, a young woman from Latin America, travels by boat to visit her sick grandmother in the United States. Upon arrival, she is taken captive by a pack of wolves and forced into a trafficking ring. Journey with Rosa in this emotional dance depiction of human trafficking and one woman’s fight to escape.”

The play will be performed at the WCR Center for the Arts at 7pm on March 27, 2020. It is open and free for the community.
Seating is limited so please RSVP on our Facebook event.

Happy Birthday to us!

Can you believe it has been 5 years since we decided to incorporate Barrio? To celebrate this, we will be lighting up candles to celebrate!
You don’t turn 5 every year after all.

Join us on Facebook Live on Sunday at 7 pm to see them all light up!

And a million thank you to everyone who bought a candle! We are blessed to have each one of you lighting our way.

There’s still time to get a candle! Buy one on our website and watch as we light it up this weekend!
