Keynote Speaker announced for GRCA’s “The Dinner”

Reading, PA – The Greater Reading Chamber Alliance (GRCA) is pleased to announce that best-selling author, combat veteran and social entrepreneur Wes Moore will serve as keynote speaker at GRCA’s 107th Annual Dinner. The Dinner is the area’s largest gathering of business and community leaders, with an expected crowd of around 1,000 people. The Dinner will also celebrate the Greater Reading business community with the Greater Reading Top Business Awards, the Entrepreneurial Excellence Awards, and the fourth annual Albert Boscov Economic Development Award. Moore is the CEO of Robin Hood, one of the largest anti-poverty forces in the nation. He also is the author of five books, one of which titled “Five Days: The Fiery Reckoning of an American City,” is slated for release April 14. Moore’s work has even caught the eye of Oprah Winfrey. His most well-known novel “The Other Wes Moore” has been optioned by Winfrey and HBO to be made into a movie.

During his presentation, Moore will discuss his quest for a meaningful life, sharing valuable lessons learned from the remarkable people that he met along the way. From the translator who helped him “find his fight” in Afghanistan to young students in Katrina-ravaged Mississippi who showed him the meaning of grit and resiliency, Moore will reveal that our truest work happens when we serve others.

The dinner will be held Tuesday, June 2, from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the Santander Arena, Reading. The public is invited to join GRCA for its signature event, which provides nearly 1,000 business leaders the opportunity to network, entertain guests and clients, and celebrate the achievements of the Greater Reading business community. The event’s title sponsor is Wells Fargo. Sponsorships are available by contacting Bethany Kirkner, Director of Events, at [email protected] or 610-898-7779.
