Thriving in a Chaotic Environment

By TompkinsVIST Bank

Mar 12, 2020

Due to current recommendations regarding containment of the coronavirus, the panel discussion on “Thriving in a Chaotic Environment” for business leaders will be postponed. We will update this story with the rescheduled date soon.

Tompkins Vist Bank Sponsors workshop for business owners at Alvernia University

Tompkins VIST Bank, in cooperation with Alvernia University’s Center for Entrepreneurial Excellence, will host a free workshop called “Thriving in a Chaotic Environment” on March 18.  The two-hour morning event is designed to help business owners cope with today’s economic and political climate.  “As a relationship manager, I often hear my business customers talk about problems that keep them up at night,” said Kevin Hersh, the bank’s regional commercial lending manager, who helped design the event with Alvernia’s Don Schalk. “I’ve noticed their worries have only grown in these uncertain times.”

The focus will be a panel discussion by the leaders of three Pennsylvania companies – Barwis Construction, Burkey Construction, and Reading Technologies. The businesses were selected because of their ability to grow despite current challenges. They’ll discuss:

  • Navigating in an uncertain economy
  • Recruiting and retaining employees
  • Trade wars
  • Geopolitical events
  • Managing cash flow

The moderator will be Bob Hadfield of Strategic Resources, a Pennsylvania-based management consulting firm.

WHEN: Wednesday, March 18
