Reading Public Library Providing Needed Services During Closure

By Reading Public Library

Mar 24, 2020

In response to a directive from the PA Office of Commonwealth Libraries, Reading Public Library has been closed to all in-person services and programming since March 16.  The current closure is in effect until March 29 at the Main library at 100 S. 5th Street and the three city branches.  But library service to the public continues with some creative ways to keep the public educated, entertained, and connected.

Auto renewal for borrowed library materials began on March 16 with all due dates currently extended to April 6.  All book drops are open 24 hours a day, every day and free WiFi is always available outside of our libraries.

The number of borrowed materials from Hoopla digital media services has been increased from 5 to 20 per person for the month of March.  This is a great time to download FREE books, audio books, music, movies, comics, and magazines to your own device.   Learn more from our Emedia webpage on readingpubliclibrary.org.

Also on our website is a listing of educational and entertainment resources provided by Berks County Public Libraries.
