Firm to make donations to organizations focused on COVID-19 response efforts in their honor

Leading advisory and CPA firm Herbein + Company, Inc. (Herbein) today announced the launch of the Herbein Helpers program – the firm’s new initiative to recognize immediate family members making a difference during the COVID-19 pandemic.

“Through this program, our firm proudly will honor the people who keep us safe and healthy,” said Herbein Managing Partner David W. Stonesifer, CPA. “Especially in these unprecedented times, we can always find people who are helping – and they’re right in our own homes. Like millions of U.S. families, our team members have relatives who are first/second responders, teachers, food, transportation and delivery workers, and provide many more essential services. These are the Herbein Helpers we will recognize.”

Each identified Herbein Helper will be asked to nominate an organization currently engaged in COVID-19 response efforts and the firm will donate a minimum of $1,500 to the nominated organization. Herbein is also committed to playing an active role in helping our communities be strong and stay safe, through additional fundraising support.

“Our firm is “all-in” on Herbein Helpers. I am very proud of the enthusiasm we are seeing for this initiative. We will match team member donations up to $15,000 to the program,” Stonesifer said.

Additionally, Spring House, PA Partner Tom Masoero has pledged to donate up to $1,000 – one dollar for every mile a local team member walks/runs/bikes right now – and these funds will be directed to a local food bank. Herbein subsidiary Financial Outsourcing Solutions’ Partners Debbi Fetter and Tom Strause supplied matching funds for a drive that will collectively donate $3,000 ($1,000 each to the Second Harvest Food Bank – Lehigh Valley; Central Pennsylvania Food Bank; and Helping Harvest Food Bank – Berks/Schuylkill.)

“We want to play an active role in helping our communities be strong and stay safe during the COVID-19 pandemic. Through Herbein Helpers, we will recognize our family members making a difference by responding to community needs and delivering the right support where it’s needed most,” Stonesifer said.
