By Lyons Fiddle Fest

May 12, 2020

The Lyons Fiddle Festival is Berks County, PA Americana music and art tradition.

Sunday, June 5, 1983, marked the first annual festival with a budget of $300, a borrowed hay wagon, homemade food, and some of the finest fiddling. This year we will being having our 37th Festival on Sunday, Sept 20th!

300 people came out for the music, the fellowship, and the food the 1st year and the numbers have grown each year since. Folks of all ages were inspired to dust off their old fiddles and other instruments and play again. From preschoolers to retirees, novice to professional, fiddlers from up and down the east coast have entertained and competed on stage at the festival. Now we average 2500 to 3000 People that attend the annual event!

In its 37 years, it is estimated that over 170,000 spectators have set up their folding chairs and blankets in the park for entertainment by over 800 contestants and an untold number of jammers. Contestants have even continued on with successful careers in music.

We strive to be a low cost event for people to enjoy. For the price of $5.00 gate fee, for those age 13 and over, and a parking donation pole and enjoy a Morning Concert Series, an Afternoon Fiddle Contest, Jam Groups, a large Craft Area, and locally made Food, Baked Goods, and Ice Cream.

Keeping the Fiddle Fest affordable for families is done through Tickets sales, Food and Drink sales, Crafter fees, Raffle sales and by Sponsors, both businesses and individuals, that support Music and Art in Berks County.
