City of Reading Needs Hearing Public Notice

The City of Reading invites citizens, public agencies, and other interested parties to participate in the development of the City’s Annual Action Plan covering Federal Fiscal Year 2021 by attending a virtual public hearing on May 28, 2020 at 5:00 pm.

Due to the COVID-19 Declaration of Emergency, the public is prohibited from attending this hearing. The hearing will be conducted through a virtual meeting application and streamed on the City’s website at http://readingpa.granicus.com/ViewPublisher.php?view_id=2

The Zoom meeting participation information will be posted on the City’s website https://www.readingpa.gov/

The purpose of the hearing is to obtain the views and comments of individuals and organizations regarding the overall housing and community development needs of the City and a review of the past program performance. The information will be used in preparation of the 2021 Action Plan.

For Federal Fiscal Year 20201, the City expects to receive $2,560,000 from the CDBG Program, $980,000 from the HOME Program, $220,000 from the ESG Program. The City is also eligible to participate in the Section 108 Program. Section 108 is the loan guarantee provision of the CDBG Program whereby the City can borrow up to five times their latest CDBG Program grant for eligible activities.
