Kyla Ramsey loves helping her students grow at 13th and Green Elementary school in the Reading School District where she is the special education lead teacher.

Why did you decide to become a teacher?
“I decided to become a teacher because I have a strong passion for making all kiddos productive members of society!”

What is your favorite thing about being a teacher?
“One of my all time favorite things about being a teacher is building relationships with students so that they want to come to school and are excited about learning to become a better version of themselves.”

How have you been keeping students engaged while learning online?
“By being available for learning as it suits the student’s schedule and by providing assurance that we as teachers are also learning how to navigate this virtual platform.”

What do you look forward to when you get back in the classroom?
“When school resumes, I will be most excited about face to face hellos, smiles, laughter, and returning to a routine! It’s the little things that we need before the “big stuff” can have an impact.”
