Reading Public Library Announces Limited Return to In-Person Service

Reading Public Library will open for in-person service beginning on Monday, July 6 with limited hours of operation as follows:

         Main Branch, 100 S. 5th Street:

                     10 am to 4 pm – Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays

                     12 to 6 pm – Tuesdays

 

Southeast Branch, 1426 Perkiomen Ave.

                     10 am to 1 pm and 2 to 5 pm – Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays

                     12 to 3 pm and 4 to 7 pm – Mondays

 

Northwest Branch, 901 Schuylkill Ave.

                     10 am to 1 pm and 2 to 5 pm – Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays

                     12 to 3 pm and 4 to 7 pm – Tuesdays

 

         Northeast Branch, 1348 N. 11th Street

                     10 am to 1 pm and 2 to 5 pm – Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays

                     12 to 3 pm and 4 to 7 pm – Wednesdays 

Adhering to the guidelines of the City of Reading and PA Office of Commonwealth Libraries, the following standards of safety will be in place:

         Mandatory mask wearing

         Social distancing of at least 6’

         Children’s Library play areas closed

         Occupancy limited to 50%

In order to serve as many people as possible, visits will be restricted to one hour per day.

 

While the library is excited to welcome back patrons, they have issued the following plea to the public:

If you or someone in your household has COVID-19 symptoms or has been in contact with someone with COVID-19 in the last 14 days, please do not come to Reading Public Library.  You could shut us down again for 2 weeks.

The “order ahead-lobby pick up” and “Personal Librarian” services will remain in operation. Hours may vary slightly from in-person service.  Information on these programs and updates to hours of operation will be are available at readingpubliclibrary.org.
