St. Joseph Medical Center Foundation appoints four new members to board of directors

The St. Joseph Medical Center Foundation appointed four new members to its board of directors during its annual meeting on May 20.

The following individuals were elected to a three-year term, which begins July 1:

  • Karen Reese Arnold is a former Berks County executive who has served on the board of directors for several local non-profit organizations, including Berks County Red Cross, Opportunity House and the Junior League of Reading. She currently serves on the U.S. Ski & Snowboard Foundation Board of Trustees, as well as several national, regional and local boards.
  • Carol Bourrie is an active volunteer with St. Ignatius Loyal Regional School, serving as a member of the school board and as chair of the Annual Fund Committee. In addition, she serves on the boards of directors for several Berks County political and non-profit organizations.
  • Helen Najarian currently serves as the international student admission associate for Lancaster Country Day School. In addition, she is an emeritus board member of Safe Berks and has held multiple roles with the United Way of Berks County board of directors.
  • Timothy Romig is a commercial banking executive who currently serves Customers Bank as the market president for both Pennsylvania and New Jersey.

“We are thrilled to be adding these highly respected local business and community leaders, who combined with our existing Foundation Board, bring valuable insight and expertise to our team,” says John Pagerly, chair. “We all look forward to working together in continuing to positively impact the health care needs of our community throughout Berks County.”
