The County of Berks invites citizens, public agencies and other interested parties to participate in the development of the County’s 2021 Action Plan by participating in a virtual public hearing on Wednesday, July 15 at 6:30pm. via teleconference utilizing Zoom video conferencing software. The purpose of the hearing is to obtain the views and comments of individuals and organizations regarding the overall housing and community development needs of the County, development of proposed activities of the County, and a review of the past program performance. The information will be used in the preparation of the 2021 Action plan.
For Federal Fiscal Year 2021, the County expects to receive a minimum of $2,300,000 from the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Program, a minimum of $640,000 from the Home Investment Partnerships (HOME) Program, and a minimum of $200,000 from the Emergency Solutions Grant (ESG) Program and $72,000 in HOME Program income. The County is also eligible to participate in the Section 108 Program. Section 108 is the loan guarantee provision of the CDBG Program grant for eligible activities.
All citizens, public agencies, and other interested parties can participate in this hearing and phone-in during the hearing to offer their views and comments.
