Teachers in the Parks are Teachers on TV

Aug 03, 2020

Get ready, get set, and LET’S GO!  Kids like to watch TV, right?  Teachers in the Parks (TIPS) are teachers on TV this summer!

TIPS’ Mission is to ensure that all children have access to high-quality summer learning opportunities that inspire their educational and social experiences, led by certified teachers in students’ natural summer environments.

Research shows that children, especially those in poverty, lose significant academic skills during the summer months.  TIPS programs aim to combat the summer slide with fun, interactive programs taught by experienced teachers from your community schools. The program is specifically designed to bridge the summer gap between grade levels so that our students start the new year with academic and social confidence.

Now, as families are navigating unexpected time at home, TIPS is going virtual to keep students plugged in to summer learning.

Teachers in the Parks educators have created original video learning experiences to air on BCTV each week.   We know you’re ready to have fun with a teacher who has great ideas to challenge your brain for a new school year!

Tune in to BCTV Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays, August 4-August 20 to watch on television or stream online at www.bctv.org.
