Libraries Team Up to Expand Reading Through Ebooks and E-audiobooks

READING, Pa. – As people increasingly read and listen to books on their smartphone or tablet, they’re discovering one of the best resources is their local public library. Residents of Berks County can now access an even wider selection of popular digital ebooks and audiobooks free from both Reading Public Library and Wyomissing Public Library. With a valid card from either library, community members can borrow from both Reading Public Library and Wyomissing Public Library’s digital collections by downloading Libby, the award-winning one-tap reading app from OverDrive. “Providing free online digital resources is more important than ever, said Bronwen Gamble, Executive Director at Reading Public Library. “Our eMedia circulation rose by 65% since April and we are pleased to partner with the Wyomissing Public Library to bring a wider array of materials to our communities.”

Readers may browse both Reading Public Library and Wyomissing Public Library’s digital collections, instantly borrow titles and start reading or listening for free with a valid library card. All titles will automatically expire at the end of the lending period and there are no late fees. Readers can also download titles onto Libby for offline use.
