Greater Governor Mifflin League Presents “Drive N’ Dine” Festival

The Greater Governor Mifflin League (GGML) was founded in 1976 as a non-profit organization devoted to giving back to the Governor Mifflin community consisting of Shillington, Kenhorst, Mohnton, Cumru Township, and Brecknock Township. Its main goal has been to return proceeds from the fair in the form of contributions to local fire companies, ambulance associations, scout troops, school projects, community projects, and scholarships, just to name a few. In its history, the GGML has given back over $500,000 to fund these organizations and students. Each summer since 1976, the GGML has presented a unique community fair featuring food, games, rides, and some of the best national and regional entertainment, including a spectacular “One-of-a-Kind” Fireworks finale.

This year, Community Days was scheduled to be held from Monday June 29th – Saturday July 4th; however, due to state emergency regulations associated to the COVID-19 pandemic surrounding the safety of our patrons, volunteers, and vendors, Community Days was cancelled. This is the 1st time in the festival’s history that it has been cancelled and a decision that was not taken lightly by the members of the GGML Board.  Unfortunately, it was one that we had no choice in making given the current landscape surrounding this terrible pandemic. Community Days has become one of the countless festivals across the world that has had to unfortunately cancel. We look forward to seeing everybody at the 2021 Greater Governor Mifflin League Community Days, July 5 – July 10, 2021.

Even though the organization was forced to cancel this year’s Community Days, there was broad consensus among the board members that we wanted to give something back to the community in the form of a smaller-scaled event and after significant brain-storming, we created:

“The Greater Governor Mifflin League’s “Drive N’ Dine” Presented by Seidel Auto Group”.

This event will be held over Labor Day weekend on the campus of the Governor Mifflin Senior High School for (3) days on Saturday Sep. 5, Sunday Sep. 6, and Monday Sep. 7. The event will be open from 12:00 PM – 7:00 PM each day, RAIN OR SHINE. Some of Community Days’ most-popular and supporting vendors will be providing food for sale including Johnny’s Pizza, Sammy’s French Fries, JP Concessions, and Al’s Sausage. Fair food favorites will be amply available for sale including funnel cakes, pizza, French Fries, soft-serve ice cream, sausage sandwiches, and many others. Guests are encouraged to support these vendors in the form of take-out orders or they will be able to eat while parking their cars in the parking lot of the Governor Mifflin Senior High School and enjoy our featured entertainment each day including The Uptown Band on Saturday, 23-Year Old Award-Winning Elvis Tribute Artist Jeff Krick, Jr. on Sunday, and Country/Rock Vocalist/Guitarist Cody Tyler on Monday. Entertainment will take place each day from 2:30 PM – 5:30 PM. Every other parking space will be open for parking to allow for social-distancing and guests are encouraged to bring their chairs to sit at their cars. No large crowd gatherings will be permitted. We will also be offering our popular 50-50 raffles each day as well as other prizes.

The Greater Governor Mifflin League would like to thank the Governor Mifflin School Board for their unwavering support of Community Days since 1976 and of course, for the unmatched support they have shown for this event. We also wish to graciously thank our headline sponsor SEIDEL AUTO GROUP and our other 2020 sponsors including:

All CDC regulations will be followed as well as social-distance guidelines will be in place. Hand sanitizer will be available throughout the event as well as at each vendor. Guests will be asked to wear masks when not at their cars or when ordering food.
