BETHEL – Senator David G. Argall, Congressman Dan Meuser and Berks County Commissioner Christian Leinbach joined NorthPoint officials and other stakeholders at a groundbreaking for a one million square foot distribution center located in Berks Park 78, Bethel Township.  This facility will provide 400 permanent jobs and 150 immediate construction jobs for residents in the Berks County area and more than $16 Million in real estate taxes over the next twenty years.

Nathaniel Hagedorn, CEO of NorthPoint Development, Kansas City, Missouri, was on hand for this latest NorthPoint project.  He stated, “We are honored to be in good company when developing such a beneficial project for Bethel Township. Berks Park 78 has a strategic location for major highway access that will service and promote economic development for local communities. We look forward to our long term partnership with Bethel and State of Pennsylvania.”

Senator Argall stated “working with professionals like NorthPoint, Blue Rock Construction and Schlouch Incorporated, makes projects of this magnitude go much more smoothly.”

“Today’s groundbreaking is great news for Berks County,” said Rep. Meuser. “This new distribution facility will provide hundreds of good-paying, new jobs, while also expanding the county’s tax base. Thank you to NorthPoint Development for their continued investment in our region. With an advantageous location and a skilled workforce, Berks County is a great place to do business.”

Commissioner Leinbach added, “In spite of the COVID-19 pandemic the economic and commercial construction boom continues in Berks County and especially here along the I78 corridor. The construction jobs and along with the jobs provided by the business that will eventually occupy this building as well as the tax revenues will benefit Bethel Township, the Tulpehocken School District and Berks County.”
